New cases cross 3,000 mark, taking total past 400,000

1,019 cases in Selangor, 15 more deaths nationwide.

Another 3,142 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 401,593.

Selangor recorded 1,019 cases, Kelantan 523, Kuala Lumpur 440, Sarawak 416, Johor 194 and Kedah 120.

Penang recorded 98 cases, Sabah 87, Perak 69, Negeri Sembilan 61, Melaka 42, Terengganu 40, Pahang 15, Putrajaya 13, Labuan four and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 26,719 with 306 in the ICU and 151 in need of respiratory assistance.

Twelve new clusters were detected:

1. Melugu (Sri Aman and Lubuk Antu in Sarawak; 582 screened, 13 positive)
2. Madai (Lahad Datu and Kunak in Sabah; 45 screened, 30 positive)
3. Layar Hujung (Kuala Muda in Kedah; 45 screened, 23 positive)
4. Jalan Gombak Dua (Gombak and Hulu Langat in Selangor, Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya; 78 screened, 19 positive)
5. Ulu Strass (Meradong in Sarawak; 47 screened, 25 positive)
6. Jalan Maharajalela (Hilir Perak in Perak, Kuala Muda in Kedah, and Cheras in Kuala Lumpur; 41 screened, 12 positive)
7. Taman Wira (Kluang, Batu Pahat and Kulai in Johor; 134 screened, 26 positive)
8. Pintu Air Relau (Bandar Baharu and Kota Setar in Kedah; 83 screened, 31 positive)
9. Jalan Rimbunan (Kepong in Kuala Lumpur and Gombak in Selangor; 88 screened, 22 positive)
10. Jalan Bakariah (Muar in Johor; 40 screened, 10 positive)
11. Jalan Sekinchan (Klang in Selangor; 38 screened, 23 positive)
12. Leboh Gambus (Klang in Selangor; 123 screened, 61 positive)

Nine others ended, leaving 370 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,822 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 373,397.

However, 15 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,477.
