Selangor logs over 700 cases again as 2,776 new infections recorded

762 cases in Selangor, 615 in Sarawak.

Another 2,776 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 395,718.

Selangor recorded 762 cases, Sarawak 615, Kelantan 343, Johor 309, Kuala Lumpur 254, Penang 123 and Negeri Sembilan 112.

Sabah recorded 88 cases, Perak 45, Kedah 39, Melaka and Pahang 34 each, Terengganu nine, Putrajaya seven and Labuan two.

Active cases stand at 24,713 with 300 in the ICU and 133 in need of respiratory assistance.

Twelve new clusters were detected:

1. Pondok Belaga (Belaga in Sarawak; 255 screened, nine positive)
2. Kampung Batu Sembilan (Kuala Langat in Selangor; 166 screened, 52 positive)
3. Tapak Bina Tanjung Kupang (Johor Bahru in Johor; 145 screened, 44 positive)
4. Jalan Raja Bukit Pasir (Muar in Johor; 306 screened, 151 positive)
5. Jalan Sebauh-Bintulu (Sebauh and Bintulu in Sarawak; 318 screened, 67 positive)
6. Jalan Arumugam Pillai (Seberang Perai Tengah in Penang; 61 screened, 13 positive)
7. Kota Syahbandar (Melaka Tengah in Melaka; 25 screened, 12 positive)
8. Jalan Kesidang (Melaka Tengah and Alor Gajah in Melaka; 68 screened, 22 positive)
9. Sungai Senibung (Julau in Sarawak; 290 screened, 14 positive)
10. Kampung Pangkal Chuit (Machang in Kelantan; 180 screened, 27 positive)
11. Jalan Impian Emas 17 (Johor Bahru in Johor; 125 screened, seven positive)
12. Kampung Selamat (Seberang Perai Utara in Penang and Kulim in Kedah; 365 screened, 22 positive)

Five others ended, leaving 358 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,803 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 369,556.

However, 13 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,449.
