Selangor, Sarawak log over 700 new cases

2,847 new cases take total confirmed infections to 387,535.

Another 2,847 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 387,535.

Selangor recorded 748 cases followed by Sarawak (717), Kelantan (476), Kuala Lumpur (302), Johor (130) and Negeri Sembilan (105).

Penang recorded 89 cases, Sabah 82, Perak 45, Kedah 44, Melaka 42, Pahang 39, Putrajaya 14, Terengganu 11 and Labuan three.

Active cases stand at 22,512 with 260 in the ICU and 125 in need of respiratory assistance.

Eight more clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Roban Lama (Saratok and Kabong in Sarawak; 275 screened, 48 positive)
2. Jalan Selirik (Kapit in Sarawak; 108 screened, 23 positive)
3. Jalan Sungai Daun (Seberang Perai Selatan in Penang; 90 screened, nine positive)
4. Persiaran Sri Saujana (Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru in Johor; 441 screened, eight positive)
5. Mempaga Satu (Bentong and Maran in Pahang and Petaling in Selangor; 221 screened, 44 positive)
6. Gong Dermin (Kota Bharu in Kelantan; 152 screened, 51 positive)
7. Sri Desa (Temerloh and Bentong in Pahang; 303 screened, 10 positive)
8. Jalan Bukit Bintang (Lembah Pantai and Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; 16 screened, seven positive)

Six others ended, leaving 354 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,341 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 363,608.

However, eight more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,415.
