Death toll hits 1,400 as new cases stay above 2,000

526 cases in Selangor, 429 in Sarawak and 370 in Kelantan.

Another 2,340 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 381,813.

Selangor reported 526 cases, followed by Sarawak (429), Kelantan (370), Kuala Lumpur (291), Sabah (172), Johor (170) and Penang (111).

Pahang reported 81 cases, Melaka 63, Kedah 55, Perak 38, Negeri Sembilan 24, Putrajaya six, Labuan two and Terengganu and Perlis one each.

Active cases stand at 21,687 with 248 in the ICU and 101 in need of respiratory assistance.

Eleven more clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Anggerik 21 (Johor Bahru in Johor; 651 screened, 13 positive)
2. Pengkalan Batik (Alor Gajah in Melaka; 196 screened, 37 positive)
3. Anggerik Cempaka (Baling in Kedah; 87 screened, six positive)
4. Jalan Langat Ceria (Hulu Langat, Petaling, Klang, Kuala Langat, Gombak and Sepang in Selangor; 144 screened, 50 positive)
5. Sungai Lemayong (Meradong in Sarawak; 151 screened, 69 positive)
6. Pintasan Kampung Jawa (Barat Daya, Timur Laut and Seberang Perai Tengah in Penang; 151 screened, 69 positive)
7. Putra Tiga (Putrajaya; 33 screened, eight positive)
8. Duranda Emas (Serian in Sarawak; 75 screened, 19 positive)
9. Taman Mesra Bako (Kuching and Samarahan in Sarawak; 721 screened, 50 positive)
10. Pagar Siput Dua (Kota Tinggi in Johor; 169 screened, 36 positive)
11. Jalan Perai Jaya (Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan in Penang; 14 screened, 11 positive)

Eight others ended, leaving 343 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,910 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 358,726.

However, 11 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,400.
