Slight dip in new cases although daily infections remain over 2,000

589 new cases in Sarawak, 457 in Selangor.

Another 2,078 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 377,132.

Sarawak recorded 589 cases followed by Selangor (457), Kelantan (290), Kuala Lumpur (153), Sabah (125) and Johor (115).

Penang and Negeri Sembilan recorded 91 cases each, Kedah 48, Perak 43, Pahang 32, Melaka 27, Terengganu eight, Labuan six, Putrajaya two and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 20,522 with 228 in the ICU and 93 in need of respiratory assistance.

Fourteen more clusters were detected:

1. Tangok (Bachok, Kota Bharu and Machang in Kelantan; 139 screened, 15 positive)
2. Pulai Chondong (Machang, Bachok and Pasir Mas in Kelantan; 199 screened, 23 positive)
3. Jalan Tagasan (Semporna in Sabah; 109 screened, six positive)
4. Jalan Medan Aliff (Johor Bahru in Johor; 67 screened, nine positive)
5. Jalan Weng (Baling in Kedah; 121 screened, 11 positive)
6. Jalan Hospital (Pasir Mas in Kelantan; 525 screened, 50 positive)
7. Sungai Duan (Mukah in Sarawak; 321 screened, 84 positive)
8. Sungai Passin (Matu and Sibu in Sarawak; 441 screened, 49 positive)
9. Sungai Selitut (Bintulu and Tatau in Sarawak; 65 screened, 18 positive)
10. Jalan Bandar Universiti (Perak Tengah and Manjung in Perak; 107 screened, 13 positive)
11. Jalan Sulah 16 (Klang in Selangor; 549 screened, 46 positive)
12. Jalan Cahaya Baru (Batu Pahat in Johor and Kepong in Kuala Lumpur; 90 screened, 20 positive)
13. Cyber Park (Kulai in Johor; 21 screened, nine positive)
14. Bayan Cenderawasih (Kota Setar in Kedah; 38 screened, 10 positive)

Twelve more ended, leaving 340 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,402 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 355,224.

However, eight more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,386.
