New cases rise to 1,889, over 500 in Selangor

517 in Selangor, 489 in Sarawak.

Another 1,889 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 365,829.

Selangor recorded 517 cases, Sarawak 489, Kelantan 226, Sabah 142 and Kuala Lumpur 134.

Penang recorded 92 cases followed by Johor (84), Perak (56), Kedah (53), Negeri Sembilan (51), Terengganu (14), Pahang (13), Putrajaya (eight), Melaka (six), Perlis (three) and Labuan (one).

Active cases stand at 16,696 with 204 in the ICU and 79 in need of respiratory assistance.

Seven more clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Khidmat (Kota Kinabalu in Sabah; 796 screened, 24 positive)
2. Batu Sepuluh (Tawau in Sabah; 50 screened, 16 positive)
3. Jalan Mohd Taib (Hulu Selangor and Klang in Selangor; 49 screened, 10 positive)
4. Jalan Sempilai (Seberang Perai Tengah, Seberang Perai Utara and Seberang Perai Selatan in Penang; 57 screened, 14 positive)
5. Permatang Berangan (Kuala Muda in Kedah; 51 screened, 28 positive)
6. Jalan Gapam (Melaka Tengah and Jasin in Melaka; 102 screened, 10 positive)
7. Jalan Sahadi (Sepang, Klang and Kuala Selangor in Selangor; 59 screened, 20 positive)

Ten others ended, leaving 341 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,485 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 347,780.

However, eight more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,353.
