1,317 new cases, nearly half in Selangor, Sarawak

351 cases in Sarawak, 303 in Selangor.

Another 1,317 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 362,173.

Sarawak recorded 351 cases followed by Selangor (303), Kuala Lumpur (116), Penang (112) and Sabah (109).

Negeri Sembilan recorded 63 cases, Johor 61, Kelantan 58, Kedah 47, Pahang 32, Terengganu 22, Perak 21, Melaka 11, Putrajaya nine and Perlis two.

Active cases stand at 15,835 with 188 in the ICU and 84 in need of respiratory assistance.

Ten new clusters were detected;

1. Leepang (Rompin in Pahang; 62 screened, 23 positive)
2. Indera Mahkota Tiga (Kuantan in Pahang; 145 screened, 16 positive)
3. Industri Balakong Lapan (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 202 screened, 56 positive)
4. Jalan Perjiranan Empat (Johor Bahru and Kulai in Johor; 285 screened, 19 positive)
5. Jalan Stadium Empat (Kota Bharu, Bachok, Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh and Tumpat in Kelantan; 263 screened, 35 positive)
6. Ara Murni (Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Setiu and Kuala Nerus in Terengganu; 156 screened, 16 positive)
7. Persiaran Salahuddin (Putrajaya and Sepang in Selangor; 92 screened, 10 positive)
8. Kabu (Baling, Kota Setar, Kuala Muda and Kulim in Kedah; 59 screened, 21 positive)
9. Kampung Paya Pulai (Temerloh in Pahang; 44 screened, 10 positive)
10. Jalan Canning Estate (Kinta in Perak; 60 screened, 39 positive)

Eight others ended, leaving 345 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,052 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 345,005.

However, four more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,333.
