New cases stay above 1,000 mark

Total confirmed infections at 347,972.

Another 1,294 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 347,972.

Selangor recorded 455 cases, Sarawak 217, Penang 139 and Johor 103.

Kuala Lumpur recorded 88 cases, Kelantan 66, Sabah 63, Pahang 57, Negeri Sembilan 31, Melaka 22, Kedah 21, Perak 14, Terengganu eight, Putrajaya five, Labuan four and Perlis one.

Ten new clusters were detected:

1. Banjaran Gading (Kota Kinabalu in Sabah; 20 screened, eight positive)
2. Simpang Empat (Kunak in Saba; 100 screened, 11 positive)
3. Industri Bukit Angkat (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 59 screened, 38 positive)
4. Jalan Taat (Johor Bahru in Johor; 30 screened, nine positive)
5. Jalan Bukit Nanas (Cheras, Titiwangsa and Kepong in Kuala Lumpur; 60 screened, nine positive)
6. Jalan Padang (Tampin, Rembau, Kuala Pilah and Jempol in Negeri Sembilan, and Alor Gajah in Melaka; 101 screened, 14 positive)
7. Wakaf Chagak (Kuala Nerus and Kuala Terengganu in Terengganu; 167 screened, nine positive)
8. Kalindukan (Nabawan in Sabah; 149 screened, 13 positive)
9. Permatang Pasir (Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan; 27 screened, 11 positive)
10. Pekan Batu (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 30 screened, 15 positive)

Nine others ended, leaving 363 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,442 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 332,443.

However, five more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,283.
