1,360 new cases with Selangor, Sarawak in lead

Total confirmed cases now at 338,168.

Another 1,360 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 338,168.

Selangor recorded 356 cases followed by Sarawak (308), Johor (129) and Penang (113).

Kuala Lumpur recorded 98 cases, Perak 71, Sabah 70, Kelantan 63, Negeri Sembilan 49, Kedah 44, Melaka 32, Pahang 10, Putrajaya eight, Terengganu six and Labuan three.

Active cases stand at 14,504 with 157 in the ICU and 72 in need of respiratory assistance.

Eight new clusters were detected:

1. Persiaran Maktab (Klang, Hulu Langat and Gombak in Selangor; 45 screened, seven positive)
2. Bandar Sri (Cheras in Kuala Lumpur; 46 screened, 12 positive)
3. Tenegang (Kinabatangan in Sabah; 176 screened, 20 positive)
4. Paloh Rambai (Kota Bharu and Bachok in Kelantan; 347 screened, 20 positive)
5. Perusahaan LPK (Kuala Muda in Kedah; 847 screened, 41 positive)
6. Merinding (Labuan; 1,010 screened, five positive)
7. Putra Satu (Putrajaya, Sepang in Selangor and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan; 45 screened, nine positive)
8. Siasai Tamu (Kota Belud in Sabah; 162 screened, 11 positive)

Nine others ended, leaving 394 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,491 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 322,416.

However, two more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,248.
