New cases still linger above 1,000 as recoveries continue ahead

Another 1,213 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 328,466.

Selangor recorded 353 cases, Sarawak 303, Johor 142 and Penang 104.

Kuala Lumpur recorded 79 cases followed by Sabah (73), Perak (39), Kedah (38), Negeri Sembilan (23), Kelantan (20), Terengganu (15), Pahang (14), Melaka (eight) and Labuan (two).

Active cases stand at 14,782 with 155 in the ICU and 54 in need of respiratory assistance.

Nine new clusters were detected:

1. Tapak Bina Persiaran Setia (Petaling in Selangor; 100 screened, 18 positive)
2. Tapak Bina Persiaran Sunsuria (Sepang in Selangor; 410 screened, 11 positive)
3. Jalan Wawasan Sembilan (Batu Pahat and Kluang in Johor; 569 screened, 50 positive)
4. Melamam (Sipitang in Sabah; 164 screened, 14 positive)
5. Jalan Asuhan (Kerian in Perak; 100 screened, 12 positive)
6. Sungai Atap (Meradong in Sarawak; 148 screened, 19 positive)
7. Kampung Padang Tembak (Keningau in Sabah; 216 screened, 21 positive)
8. Bunga Tanjung Bendahara (Kota Setar and Kuala Muda in Kedah; 46 screened, 10 positive)
9. Depot Imigresen Semuja (Serian in Sarawak; 584 screened, 99 positive)

Ten others ended, leaving 428 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,503 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 312,461.

However, three more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,223.
