New cases continue to hover above 1,000

1,219 cases reported today, 499 in Selangor.

Another 1,219 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 327,253.

Selangor recorded 499 cases, Sarawak 225 and Johor 169.

Penang recorded 69 cases, Kuala Lumpur 54, Negeri Sembilan 46, Perak 36, Sabah 31, Kedah 26, Melaka 20, Kelantan 19, Terengganu 15, Putrajaya five, Pahang three and Labuan and Perlis one each.

Twelve more clusters were detected:

1. Subang Dua (Petaling in Selangor; 602 screened, 153 positive)
2. Jalan Lada Sulah (Petaling and Klang in Selangor; 327 screened, 18 positive)
3. Meranti Jaya (Sepang in Selangor; 101 screened, eight positive)
4. Jalan Merpati (Miri in Sarawak; 310 screened, 51 positive)
5. Kayu Gading (Batu Pahat in Johor; 101 screened, 36 positive)
6. Jalan Perdana (Seremban and Rembau in Negeri Sembilan; 229 screened, 23 positive)
7. Jalan Long Yunus (Pasir Puteh, Bachok and Kota Bharu in Kelantan; 214 screened, 23 positive)
8. Banggol Lepah (Bachok, Kuala Krai, Tanah Merah, Pasir Puteh and Kota Bharu in Kelantan; 261 screened, 41 positive)
9. Jalan Hang Tuah (Johor Bahru in Johor; 155 screened, 20 positive)
10. Taman Ria Enam (Tawau in Sabah; 85 screened, 16 positive)
11. Tembok Muhasabah (Jelebu in Negeri Sembilan; 225 screened, 49 positive)
12. Andromeda (Muar in Johor; 44 screened, six positive)

Eleven others ended, leaving 429 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,346 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 310,958.

However, two more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,220.
