9 new clusters as daily cases see further dip

1,280 new cases, 2,345 recoveries.

Another 1,280 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 316,269.

Selangor recorded 464 cases followed by Johor (165), Sarawak (163), Penang (143) and Kuala Lumpur (119).

Sabah recorded 64 cases, Negeri Sembilan 45, Terengganu 36, Perak 34, Kedah 25, Kelantan 16, Putrajaya three, Pahang two and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 18,704 with 155 in the ICU and 76 in need of respiratory assistance.

Nine new clusters were detected:

1. Lorong Kilang (Petaling and Klang in Selangor; 419 screened, 41 positive)
2. Jalan Nusa Mega (Johor Bahru in Johor; 182 screened, 36 positive)
3. Jalan Setia Jaya (Batu Pahat in Johor; 56 screened, 28 positive)
4. Jalan Industri A1 (Tangkak in Johor; 31 screened, 21 positive)
5. Medan Bayan Lepas (Barat Daya, Timur Laut, Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan in Penang; 428 screened, 65 positive)
6. Tapak Bina Jalan U-Thant (Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; 158 screened, 35 positive)
7. Tapak Bina Jalan Salak (Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur; 29 screened, 26 positive)
8. Amanjaya (Kuala Muda, Pendang and Yan in Kedah; 61 screened, 16 positive)
9. Sungai Lembing (Kuantan in Pahang; 135 screened, 13 positive)

Nineteen others ended, leaving 457 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,345 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 296,379.

However, nine more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,186.
