1,529 new cases as numbers stay under 2,000 mark for third day

Selangor continues to record the most cases with 726.

Another 1,529 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 314,989.

Selangor recorded 726 cases followed by Sarawak (252) and Johor (120).

Negeri Sembilan recorded 89 cases, Penang 76, Sabah and Kuala Lumpur 71 each, Perak 49, Kelantan 28, Perlis 17, Terengganu 13, Kedah nine, Melaka four, Pahang three and Putrajaya one.

Active cases stand at 19,778 with 160 in the ICU and 79 in need of respiratory assistance.

Four new clusters were detected:

1. Cyber 72 (Kulai in Johor; 163 screened, 18 positive)
2. Jalan i-Park Tiga (Kulai in Johor; 43 screened, eight positive)
3. Jalan Loke Yew (Cheras in Kuala Lumpur; 16 screened, 11 positive)
4. Bukit Bayas (Kuala Terengganu in Terengganu, Johor Bahru in Johor and Petaling in Selangor; 139 screened, 23 positive)

Nine others ended, leaving 467 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,076 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 294,034.

However, eight more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,177.
