New cases continue to hover above 2,000

Another 2,154 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 310,097.

Selangor recorded 794 cases followed by Johor (463), Sarawak (250), Penang (119), Perak (109) and Kuala Lumpur (108).

Sabah recorded 97 cases, Negeri Sembilan 77, Kelantan 57, Pahang 38, Terengganu 16, Melaka 10, Kedah nine, Putrajaya four, Labuan two and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 22,034 with 184 in the ICU and 87 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 3,275 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 286,904.

However, six more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,159.
