New cases back over 2,000 but recoveries still ahead

Another 2,063 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 307,943.

Selangor recorded 630 cases followed by Sarawak (361), Penang (337), Johor (255), Kuala Lumpur (120) and Perak (101).

Negeri Sembilan recorded 91 cases, Sabah 78, Kelantan 44, Pahang 13, Kedah 12, Terengganu 10, Putrajaya seven, Melaka three and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 23,161 with 193 in the ICU and 99 in need of respiratory assistance.

Fourteen more clusters were detected:

1. Industri Subang (Petaling, Klang and Kuala Selangor in Selangor; 171 screened, 47 positive)
2. Lagenda Suria (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 63 screened, 31 positive)
3. Jalan Bukit Tiga (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 140 screened, 14 positive)
4. Jasmnie Empat (Hulu Selangor in Selangor; 351 screened, 17 positive)
5. Jalan Damansara (Petaling in Selangor; 70 screened, 11 positive)
6. Tapak Bina Queens Waterfront (Barat Daya and Timur Laut in Penang; 709 screened, 145 positive)
7. Jalan Distripark B6 (Johor Bahru in Johor; 63 screened, 25 positive)
8. Batu 21 (Kulai and Johor Bahru in Johor; 91 screened, 15 positive)
9. Persiaran Kempas Baru (Johor Bahru in Johor; 150 screened, 27 positive)
10. Jalan Kabel Gemilang (Johor Bahru in Johor; 22 screened, 12 positive)
11. Jalan Maju Satu (Johor Bahru in Johor; 90 screened, 10 positive)
12. Jalan Limau Manis (Kluang and Johor Bahru in Johor; 49 screened, 13 positive)
13. Jalan Kebun Nenas (Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan in Penang; 326 screened, 94 positive)
14. Tapak Bina Nilam Sari (Seremban in Negeri Sembilan; 84 screened, 30 positive)

Eleven others ended, leaving 490 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,922 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 283,629.

However, five more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,153.
