New cases dip below 2,000

Another 1,828 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 302,580.

Johor recorded 490 cases followed by Selangor (453), Sarawak (220), Negeri Sembilan (167), Perak (144) and Sabah (104).

Penang recorded 85 cases, Kuala Lumpur 75, Kelantan 36, Kedah 16, Terengganu 15, Melaka and Pahang eight each, Putrajaya six and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 25,542 with 198 in the ICU and 90 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 2,486 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 275,903.

However, five more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,135.
