Recoveries stay ahead as new cases still under 3,000

2,461 new cases, 4,782 recoveries.

Another 2,461 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 280,272.

Selangor recorded 1,001 cases, Kelantan 257, Johor 233, Kuala Lumpur 230, Sarawak 134, Sabah 109, Perak 108 and Kedah 101.

Negeri Sembilan recorded 89 cases followed by Penang (87), Pahang (42), Melaka (32), Terengganu (22), Putrajaya (13) and Perlis (three).

Active cases stand at 34,468 with 207 in the ICU and 91 in need of respiratory assistance.

Ten new clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Perusahaan Satu (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 472 screened, 43 positive)
2. Perdana Tiga (Gombak in Selangor; 87 screened, 52 positive)
3. Jalan Lapangan Terbang (Kulai, Johor Bahru and Pontian in Johor; 482 screened, 41 positive)
4. Jalan Tanjung Enam (Johor Bahru in Johor; 341 screened, 17 positive)
5. Jalan Wawasan 14 (Batu Pahat in Johor; 70 screened, 17 positive)
6. Batu Dua Setengah (Batu Pahat in Johor; 154 screened, seven positive)
7. Jalan Pasar (Kota Belud in Sabah; 180 screened, 13 positive)
8. Jalan Pelabuhan (Manjung in Perak; 52 screened, 15 positive)
9. Batu Sebelas (Kinta and Kuala Kangsar in Perak; 22 screened, 11 positive)
10. Tapak Bina Kasia (Seremban in Negeri Sembilan; 155 screened, 51 positive)

Eleven others ended, leaving 510 active clusters across the country.

Another 4,782 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 244,753.

However, eight more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,051.
