New cases fall below 3,000

Another 2,764 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 248,316.

Selangor recorded 862 cases, Johor 521, Kuala Lumpur 422, Melaka 203, Sabah 180, Penang 119 and Sarawak 111.

Negeri Sembilan recorded 99 cases, Kelantan 62, Kedah 59, Perak 40, Terengganu 34, Pahang 32, and Putrajaya and Labuan 10 each.

Active cases stand at 50,841 with 289 in the ICU and 127 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 3,887 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 196,566.

However, 13 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 909.
