Customers will be allowed to dine in at restaurants beginning tomorrow limited to two people per table and in full compliance with health SOPs.

At a press conference today, Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob also said that the retail sector would be allowed to reopen subject to sanitation three times a day as well as other SOPs including the use of masks, temperature checks and physical distancing.

Clothing and fashion stores must provide disposable hand gloves for customers while no testing will be allowed at cosmetic shops.

Nightclubs, entertainment centres and karaoke joints are still barred from opening.

Ismail said the decision was made at a special meeting of the National Security Council yesterday.

He said the meeting also agreed to make the use of the MySejahtera app compulsory in areas with widespread internet access.

He said this was because some customers did not write down their actual name and number, which would complicate contact tracing efforts if a positive case is detected at the premise in question.

Areas without internet access such as the interior and rural areas will be exempted from this rule.
