Whopping 5,725 new cases, death toll up by 16

3,423 recoveries, 301 in ICU.

Another 5,725 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 203,933.

Selangor recorded 3,126 cases, of which 2,559 or 81.9% were from clusters and close contact screening.

Kuala Lumpur recorded 687 and Johor 684.

Sabah recorded 288 cases, Sarawak 179, Terengganu 137, Kedah 125, Penang 99, Kelantan 93, Melaka 74, Perak 73, Negeri Sembilan 69, Pahang 67, Putrajaya 16, Labuan five and Perlis three.

Active cases stand at 45,478 with 301 in the ICU and 115 in need of respiratory assistance.

Twelve new clusters were detected:

1. Persiaran Subang (Klang and Petaling in Selangor; 16 cases)
2. Industri Indah (Klang in Selangor; 47 cases)
3. Tapak Bina Jalan Klang (Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur; 50 cases)
4. Tapak Bina Jalan Vista (Cheras in Kuala Lumpur; 47 cases)
5. Jalan Kota Burok (Muar in Johor; 30 cases)
6. Jalan By-Pass (Segamat in Johor; 23 cases)
7. Jalan Bistari Dua (Johor Bahru in Johor; 17 cases)
8. Jalan Empayar (Johor Bahru in Johor; 18 cases)
9. Jalan Rusa Scientex (Johor Bahru in Johor; six cases)
10. Tinanom (Ranau in Sabah; 46 cases)
11. Jalan Sepanggar (Kota Kinabalu in Sabah; 12 cases)
12. Tabong (Bau in Sarawak; seven cases)

Nine others ended, leaving 375 active clusters across the country.

Another 3,423 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 157,722.

However, 16 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 733.
