Recoveries outpace new cases but 11 more deaths reported

3,048 new cases, 3,638 recoveries.

Another 3,048 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 186,849.

Selangor recorded 1,035 cases of which 720 or 69.9% were from clusters and close contact screening.

This was followed by Johor (529), Sabah (348) and Kuala Lumpur (305).

Sarawak recorded 120 cases followed by Penang (110), Perak (103), Negeri Sembilan (95), Melaka (90), Kelantan (89), Terengganu (79), Kedah (74), Pahang (46), Putrajaya (22) and Perlis (three).

Active cases stand at 41,076 with 261 in the ICU and 101 in need of respiratory assistance.

Thirteen new clusters were detected:

1. Sri Muda (Klang in Selangor; 35 cases)
2. Jalan Waja (Klang in Selangor; 33 cases)
3. Sungai Chemubong (Gombak in Selangor; 13 cases)
4. Jalan Indah (Johor Bahru in Johor; 11 cases)
5. Kampung Muhibbah (Kota Tinggi in Johor; 19 cases)
6. Jalan Firma Tiga (Johor Bahru in Johor; 15 cases)
7. Industri Apas (Tawau in Sabah; 22 cases)
8. Jalan Kerinchi (Lembah Pantai and Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; 14 cases)
9. Bukit Palah (Melaka Tengah and Jasin in Melaka; 38 cases)
10. Kampung Pahi (Kuala Krai in Kelantan; 18 cases)
11. Kampung Tualang (Kuala Terengganu and Kuala Nerus in Terengganu; 32 cases)
12. Taman Bahagia (Temerloh in Pahang; 19 cases)
13. Kampung Bukit Lada (Temerloh in Pahang; 14 cases)

Ten others ended, leaving 351 active clusters across the country.

Another 3,638 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 145,084.

However, 11 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 689.
