Umno election director Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has tested positive for Covid-19, just a week after joining Padang Rengas MP Nazri Aziz in a press conference.

Tajuddin told MalaysiaNow that he had not experienced any symptoms related to the virus, and as such is under home quarantine.

It is believed that both he and Nazri contracted the virus from Umno blogger Zaharin Mohd Yasin, who revealed he had tested positive after attending the press conference.

Several senior politicians are currently being treated for the virus, including Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Home Minister Hamzah Zainuddin, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mustapa Mohamad, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Rina Harun, National Unity Minister Halimah Sadique, and Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin.
