11 more deaths as new cases top 4,000 again

Another 4,008 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 169,379.

Selangor recorded 1,391 cases, of which 1,061 or 76.3% were from clusters and close contact screening.

This was followed by Kuala Lumpur (513), Johor (470), Sabah (406) and Sarawak (203).

Negeri Sembilan recorded 176 cases, Perak 170, Kedah 142, Melaka 132, Penang 124, Kelantan 121, Terengganu 81, Pahang 52, Putrajaya 23, Perlis three and Labuan one.

Active cases stand at 41,087 with 246 in the ICU and 96 in need of respiratory assistance.

Sixteen new clusters were detected:

1. Tapak Bina Jalan Abdul Aziz (Petaling in Selangor; 56 cases)
2. Bestari Rantau (Klang in Selangor; 16 cases)
3. Jalan Sejahtera (Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; 15 cases)
4. Tapak Bina Jalan Digital (Kulai in Johor and Hulu Terengganu in Terengganu; 48 cases)
5. Jalan Niaga (Kota Tinggi and Kluang in Johor; 18 cases)
6. Tampoi Lima (Johor Bahru in Johor; 26 cases)
7. Jalan Seroja (Kulai in Johor; 10 cases)
8. Jalan KKIP Selatan (Kota Kinabalu in Sabah; 14 cases)
9. Kampung Balibata (Beaufort and Sandakan in Sabah; 35 cases)
10. Sungai Ibor (Rembau in Negeri Sembilan; 12 cases)
11. Batu Enam (Batang Padang, Perak; 12 cases)
12. Persiaran Tasek (Batang Padang, Kinta and Kuala Kangsar in Perak; 20 cases)
13. Tapak Bina Bukit Sebukor (Melaka Tengah in Melaka; 28 cases)
14. Jalan Usaha (Melaka Tengah, Alor Gajah and Jasin in Melaka; 36 cases)
15. Sawmill Luit (Maran and Kuantan in Pahang; 19 cases)
16. Bukit Gelugor (Kuantan in Pahang; 22 cases)

Three others ended, leaving 318 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,374 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 127,662.

However, 11 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 630.
