4 more deaths including 19-year-old as new cases dip below 3,000

Another 2,985 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 144,518.

Selangor recorded 837 cases, of which 605 or 72.3% were from clusters and close contact screening.

Johor recorded 535, Sabah 450, Kuala Lumpur 289, Sarawak 166, Pahang 143, Negeri Sembilan 106, Penang 105, Kedah 97, Kelantan 85, Melaka 72, Perak 61, Terengganu 27, Putrajaya 11 and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 32,377 with 197 in the ICU and 79 in need of respiratory assistance.

11 new clusters were detected:

1. Taman Integrasi (Gombak in Selangor; 119 cases)
2. Jalan Ijuk (Petaling, Kuala Langat, Sepang, Klang and Hulu Langat in Selangor; 99 cases)
3. Jalan Rami (Muar in Johor; 112 cases)
4. Kota (Kota Tinggi in Johor; 57 cases)
5. Tanjung Megah (Pontian in Johor; 12 cases)
6. Jalan Kasturi (Lembah Pantai and Kepong in Kuala Lumpur; 16 cases)
7. Jalan Thamby (Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur; 23 cases)
8. Taman Batik (Kuala Muda and Baling in Kedah; nine cases)
9. Bukit Bakar (Machang in Kelantan; 18 cases)
10. Kampung Tengah (Seremban in Negeri Sembilan; 20 cases)
11. Dialisis Malim (Melaka Tengah and Alor Gajah in Melaka; 13 cases)

Two others ended, leaving 270 active clusters throughout the country.

Another 994 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 111,578.

However, four more deaths were reported including a 19-year-old with anaemia, pushing the virus toll to 563.
