New cases dip below 2,000 but 11 more deaths recorded

1,704 new cases, 2,726 recoveries.

Another 1,704 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 119,077.

Selangor recorded 673 cases, of which 509 or 75.6% were from clusters and close contact screening.

This was followed by Sabah (316), Johor (179), Kuala Lumpur (112) and Penang (103).

Perak recorded 75 cases, Negeri Sembilan 72, Kedah 53, Kelantan 47, Pahang 21, Putrajaya 17, Labuan 16, Sarawak 10, Melaka six and Terengganu four.

Nine new clusters were detected: Lintas Seraya (Kota Kinabalu and Penampang in Sabah; 16 cases), Tapak Bina Perdana Avenue (Petaling in Selangor; 202 cases), Osmo Jaya (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 46 cases), Belati (Johor Bahru, Kota Tinggi, Kulai and Pontian in Johor; 44 cases), Wawasan Gading (Batu Pahat in Johor; 13 cases), Rengit Sentral (Kota Tinggi, Kluang and Johor Bahru in Johor; 10 cases), Manik (Kuala Krai in Kelantan and Dungun in Terengganu; 22 cases), Paloh Tumpat (Tumpat in Kelantan; 15 cases) and Stutong (Kuching in Sarawak; five cases).

Six others ended, leaving 232 active clusters throughout the country.

Active cases stand at 21,365 with 124 in the ICU and 51 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 2,726 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 97,218.

However, 11 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 494.
