New cases stay above 2,000 as 3 more deaths take toll to 474

Another 2,068 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 115,078.

Selangor recorded 776 cases (37.5%), of which 425 were from clusters and close contact screening.

This was followed by Kuala Lumpur (457) and Sabah (254).

Penang recorded 226 cases, Johor 112, Kelantan 53, Perak and Negeri Sembilan 51 each, Melaka 23, Kedah 20, Pahang 16, Terengganu 14, Sarawak eight, Putrajaya four and Labuan three.

Active cases stand at 23,433 with 126 in the ICU and 54 in need of respiratory assistance.

Three new clusters were detected: Rawa Akasia (Timur Laut, Barat Daya, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan in Penang; 117 cases), Jalan Perindustrian (Kulai in Johor; 20 cases) and Rantau Semarak (Maran in Pahang and Gombak in Selangor; 18 cases).

Another four ended, leaving 224 active clusters across the country.
