Total cases cross 100,000 mark as 2 more deaths reported including 15-year-old

1,085 recoveries take total number of patients discharged to 81,099.

Another 1,581 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 100,318.

Of these, 491 or 31.1% were recorded in Selangor with 375 or 76.4% from clusters and close contact screening.

This was followed by Kuala Lumpur (379) and Sabah (249).

Negeri Sembilan recorded 144, Johor 115, Melaka 76, Penang 37, Perak and Labuan 26 each, Pahang 12, Kelantan nine, Terengganu seven, Putrajaya and Kedah four each, and Sarawak two.

Four more clusters were also detected: Kebun Baru (Kuala Langat, Selangor), Sungai Burong (Kuala Selangor, Selangor), Tapak Bina Jalan Tun (Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur) and Jalan Pandan (Lembah Pantai, Cheras, Kepong and Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur and Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Langat in Selangor).

Six other clusters ended today.

Another 1,085 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 81,099.

However, two more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 446. The first was a 15-year-old girl in Sabah whose body was brought to the Lahad Datu hospital while the other was a 61-year-old man, also in Sabah, who had a history of high blood pressure and stroke.
