Five more deaths push toll to 444

1,348 new cases, 710 recoveries.

Another 1,348 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 98,737.

Selangor recorded 535 cases, of which 209 were from clusters, 154 from close contact screening, 160 from other screenings and 12 imported.

This was followed by Kuala Lumpur with 226. Of these, 160 were from clusters, 14 from close contact screening, 49 from other screenings and three imported.

Sabah recorded 189, Melaka 124, Johor 118, Pahang 45, Penang 43, Negeri Sembilan 31, Kedah 14, Perak eight, Kelantan, Sarawak and Putrajaya four each, Labuan two and Terengganu one.

Five new clusters were also detected: Saga Tengah (Sabah), Menara Wang (Kuala Lumpur), Tapak Bina Jalan Panah (Kuala Lumpur), Hala Mutiara (Perak) and Kolam Air (Kedah).

The Menara Wang and Tapak Bina Jalan Panah clusters are both workplace clusters.

Active cases stand at 18,279 with 102 in the ICU and 44 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 710 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 80,014.

However, five more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 444.
