1,683 new cases as total tops 90,000

Another 1,683 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 90,816.

Selangor reported the most cases with 692, followed by Sabah (260) and Kuala Lumpur (197).

Negeri Sembilan reported 174 cases, Melaka 140, Johor 77 and Perak 65.

This was followed by Penang (37), Labuan (19), Putrajaya and Pahang (six each), Terengganu and Kedah (four each), and Kelantan and Sarawak (one each).

Active cases stand at 15,140 with 106 in the ICU and 51 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 1,214 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 75,244.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the virus toll unchanged at 432.
