1,772 new cases, 40% in KL

1,084 recoveries, three more deaths.

Another 1,772 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 86,618.

Kuala Lumpur recorded the most cases – 696 or 39.3% – of which 567 were from the Tapak Bina Damanlela cluster involving fifth and sixth generation infections.

This was followed by Selangor with 503 cases and Sabah with 260.

Perak recorded 110 cases, Negeri Sembilan 67, Johor 48, Penang 34, Kedah 20 and Labuan 11.

Pahang recorded eight cases followed by Terengganu (seven), Melaka (five) and Kelantan (three).

Active cases stand at 14,515 with 118 in the ICU and 56 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 1,084 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 71,681.

However, three more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 422.
