1,371 new cases, most in Selangor

Four more deaths take virus toll to 419.

Another 1,371 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 84,846.

Selangor reported the most cases (532) followed by Sabah (283), Negeri Sembilan (260) and Kuala Lumpur (124).

Perak recorded 62 new cases, Johor 45, Penang 31, Labuan 16, Terengganu nine, Kedah five, Kelantan two, and Putrajaya and Melaka one each.

In Selangor, 303 cases were from existing clusters, 109 from close contact screening, 111 from other screenings, eight from a new cluster known as the Solar Ria cluster, and one imported from overseas.

Active cases stand at 13,830 with 114 in the ICU and 62 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 1,204 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 70,597.

However, four more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 419.
