New cases back to 4 digits at 1,290

838 recoveries, four more deaths.

Another 1,290 Covid-19 cases were reported today, pushing total confirmed infections in the country to 51,680.

Of these, 660 were reported in Sabah and 407 in Selangor.

A significant number of cases in Sabah originated from clusters linked to temporary detention centres, lock-ups and prisons (250), while in Selangor 245 cases came from the Teratai cluster and another new cluster in Hulu Langat called the Kapas BJ cluster. Both are work-related clusters involving foreigners.

Kuala Lumpur recorded 72 new cases, Perak 48, Negeri Sembilan 32, and Kelantan 17.

Labuan and Johor recorded 15 each, Sarawak and Penang eight each, Kedah seven, and Melaka one.

Active cases stand at 13,222 with 110 in the ICU and 37 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 838 patients were discharged, taking total recoveries to 38,092.

However, four more deaths were recorded, bringing the virus toll to 326.
