Sabah assemblyman Manis Muka Mohd Darah died today, less than two months after winning the Bugaya state constituency for Warisan in the state election.
Manis Muka, 65, died at the Gleneagles Hospital in Kota Kinabalu this afternoon.
She had been admitted to the ICU last night for kidney-related problems.
Warisan president Shafie Apdal confirmed the news of her death to MalaysiaNow, and expressed condolence to her family.
In September, Manis Muka, who headed the women’s wing in Warisan’s Semporna division, retained the Bugaya seat with a majority of 6,005 votes, beating six other candidates.
