1,009 new cases, 6 more deaths

Another 1,009 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 36,434.

Of these, 564 were recorded in Sabah, followed by Selangor (180), Labuan (95), Negeri Sembilan (90), and Penang (36).

Kuala Lumpur recorded 17 new cases, Kedah seven, Perak six, Sarawak six, Melaka five, Johor two, and Putrajaya one.

Active cases stand at 10,503 with 78 in the ICU and 28 in need of respiratory assistance.

Five more clusters were also detected: Sutera in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah; Tamar in Petaling, Selangor; Intan in Timur Laut, Penang; and Danau in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur.

Another 839 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 25,654 or 70.4%.

However, six more deaths were also reported, pushing the virus toll to 277.
