801 new cases, death toll up by 8

Another 801 new cases were recorded today, pushing total confirmed infections to 29,441.

Of these, 546 were reported in Sabah and 89 in Selangor.

Labuan recorded 29 new cases, followed by Kedah (28), Sarawak (27), Negeri Sembilan (24), Penang (19) and Kuala Lumpur (14).

Terengganu recorded 11 new cases, Johor eight, and Perak six.

No new cases were reported in Pahang, Melaka, Kelantan, Putrajaya and Perlis.

Active cases stand at 10,123 with 94 in the ICU and 25 in need of respiratory assistance.

A total of 573 patients were also discharged, taking recoveries to 19,072 or 64.8%.

However, eight more deaths were also reported, bringing the virus toll to 246.
