New cases dip to 835, two more deaths

Another 835 Covid-19 cases were reported today, pushing total confirmed infections in the country to 28,640.

Of these, 410 were recorded in Sabah, followed by Negeri Sembilan (155), Selangor (126), Labuan (76) and Sarawak (16).

Penang recorded 13 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (11), Perak (11), Johor (eight), Kedah (four), Terengganu (four) and Putrajaya (one).

No new cases were reported in Perlis, Kelantan, Pahang and Melaka.

Active cases stand at 9,903 with 89 in the ICU and 32 in need of respiratory assistance.

A total of 674 patients were discharged from hospital, taking recoveries to 18,499 or 64.6%.

However, two more deaths were reported, both in Sabah, bringing the virus toll to 238 or 0.83%.
