823 new cases, 8 more deaths

A total of 823 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections to 26,565.

Of these, 533 or 64.8% were recorded in Sabah. This was followed by Penang (97), Selangor (88), Labuan (26), Negeri Sembilan (22), Sarawak (16), Johor (15), Kuala Lumpur (10), Terengganu (seven), Perak (six), Kedah (one), Kelantan (one) and Putrajaya (one).

Active cases stand at 9,202 with 99 in the ICU and 30 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 579 patients were discharged from hospital, taking total recoveries to 17,134 or 64.5%.

However, eight more deaths were also recorded, all in Sabah, pushing the virus toll to 229.
