Umno, PAS to make it official with Muafakat Nasional
The parties have committed to strengthening unity and cooperation ahead of GE15.

The Umno and PAS leaderships have agreed to officially register Muafakat Nasional with the Registrar of Societies.
This was announced in a joint statement by the pact’s secretary-generals Annuar Musa and Takiyuddin Hassan, shared by Annuar on Twitter.
They said the Muafakat Nasional leadership had agreed to fully commit to strengthening unity and cooperation between the two parties to face the 15th general election.
It also said that the Muafakat Nasional consultative committee meeting initially scheduled for yesterday was postponed in light of the conditional movement control order to curb the spread of Covid-19.
In a separate tweet, Annuar said Muafakat Nasional’s first anniversary celebration would be held on Nov 1.
“The anniversary celebration secretariat has been instructed to arrange the event in accordance with the new norms and in full compliance with SOPs. There will only be a virtual celebration and no mass gathering,” he added.
