Another 629 cases were reported today, all but two of which were local transmissions.
This drives total confirmed cases to 18,758.
The bulk of new local transmissions were reported in Sabah (489 or 77.7%), followed by Selangor (50), Penang (33), Labuan (19), Kuala Lumpur (10) and Perak (nine).
Kedah reported seven cases, followed by Johor (five), Melaka (three), Putrajaya (two), Negeri Sembilan (one) and Pahang (one).
Of the 627 local transmissions, 577 involved locals while 50 involved foreigners. Active cases stand at 6,323 with 99 in the ICU and 31 in need of respiratory assistance.
Another 245 patients were also discharged from hospital, taking total recoveries to 12,259 or 65.4%.
However, six more deaths were also recorded, five in Sabah and one in Kuala Lumpur.
The first was a 66-year-old man with a history of high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke. The second was a 72-year-old man with a history of heart disease, while the third was a 39-year-old man who had suffered a stroke.
The fourth death was a 74-year-old woman with a history of high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney disease. The fifth was a 67-year-old man with a history of high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.
The sixth death, recorded in Kuala Lumpur, was a 52-year-old man, a foreigner, with a history of diabetes and heart disease, among others.
