Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, scheduled at Istana Negara tomorrow, has been postponed.
Zahid, when contacted, confirmed the postponement but said that a new date had not been fixed.
“Postponed. New date not fixed,” the Bagan Datoh MP said.
Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan, after attending a meeting of the Umno Supreme Council’s political bureau late last night, told reporters that Zahid was scheduled to have an audience with Sultan Abdullah at 5pm on Thursday.
This was after opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim was granted an audience with the king at Istana Negara yesterday after claiming to have secured the support of more than 120 MPs to form a new government.
