375 new cases, 5 more deaths

Total cases have crossed the 14,000 mark.

A total of 375 new infections were recorded today, driving the number of confirmed cases in the country to 14,368.

Of these, 371 were local transmissions and four were imported cases.

The majority of new cases were recorded in Sabah (217), followed by Selangor (36), Kedah (16), Kuala Lumpur (12), Labuan (10), Sarawak (eight), Terengganu (five), Johor (five), Perak (five), Putrajaya (two), Negeri Sembilan (two), Melaka (one), Pahang (one) and Penang (one).

As for the four imported cases, two were reported in Kuala Lumpur and two in Sarawak.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a live-stream media conference, said five new deaths were also reported, taking the virus toll to 146 or 1.02%.

However, 18 patients were also discharged, taking total recoveries to 10,519 or 73.21% of confirmed cases.

A total of 3,703 cases remain active, with 60 in the ICU and 20 in need of respiratory assistance.
