Presiden Umno Ahmad Zahid Hamidi tiba di Istana Kinta di Ipoh pagi ini, dipercayai untuk menghadap Sultan Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah bagi menyembah maklum pendirian parti berhubung kemelut terkini politik negeri itu.

Kenderaan membawa beliau dilihat memasuki pintu masuk Istana Kinta pada 9.47 pagi tadi.

Malam tadi, Zahid yang juga ahli Parlimen Bagan Datuk, menghadiri mesyuarat khas Badan Perhubungan Umno Perak di Ipoh.

Kemelut politik negeri Perak bermula selepas Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu daripada Bersatu, gagal memperoleh sokongan majoriti ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (Adun) dalam usul keyakinan yang dikemukakan pada persidangan Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN), Jumaat lepas.

Dalam undian sulit yang dijalankan, Faizal yang juga Adun Chenderiang hanya mendapat 10 undi, berbanding 48 menolak manakala satu berkecuali.

DUN Perak merangkumi 25 Adun Barisan Nasional (BN) yang kesemuanya daripada Umno, DAP (16), Amanah (5), Bersatu (5), PKR (3) dan PAS (3), manakala Gerakan dan Bebas masing-masing satu kerusi.
