Korea Selatan pada Jumaat memutuskan untuk melanjutkan langkah pencegahan yang lebih ketat di restoran, kedai kopi dan roti di wilayah Seoul untuk seminggu lagi berikutan peningkatan kes jangkitan Covid-19.

Menurut laporan Agensi Berita Yonhap, sejak Ahad lalu, negara itu mula mengehadkan operasi restoran, kedai kopi dan roti di Seoul berdasarkan garis panduan penjarakan sosial Tahap 2.5, sambil langkah pencegahan Tahap 2 masih dikuat kuasa di seluruh negara sejak pertengahan Ogos.

Sejak 14 Ogos, jumlah kes baharu berada pada tiga digit, kebanyakannya membabitkan kluster gereja di utara Seoul dan perhimpunan anti-kerajaan yang diadakan pada 15 Ogos.

Korea Selatan melaporkan 198 jangkitan baru Covid-19 pada Jumaat, meningkatkan jumlah keseluruhan menjadi 20,842.

Di bawah peraturan Tahap 2.5, restoran dan kedai roti boleh beroperasi sehingga 9 malam dan hanya perkhidmatan penghantaran dibenarkan beroperasi dari 9 malam hingga 5 pagi.

Sementara itu, untuk operasi kedai kopi francais hanya perkhidmatan bawa pulang dan penghantaran dibenarkan, berikutan terdapat laporan mengenai jangkitan kluster kedai kopi.

Kemudahan sukan dalaman seperti pusat kecergasan dan dewan biliard serta sekolah yang padat juga akan ditutup.
